A raccoon attacks a child Friday December 2, 2022 in Ashford, Connecticut in the United States, a 5-year-old girl was attacked by a raccoon while waiting for her school bus. Her mother, alerted by her daughter's cries, came out of the house and grabbed the raccoon by the skin of its back. Once her daughter was safely inside, she threw the animal onto the lawn. The little girl was bitten by the raccoon. She was tested for the presence of rabies antibodies.

A dog with 3 legs pee This is Captain. He's a one-year-old rescued street dog from Romania. He and his siblings got their legs pinched off in an act of cruelty but animal rights activists luckily found him in time and nursed him back to health. He survived with three legs and now shines full of energy and joy. He runs faster than many of his four-legged friend. The little sunshine doesn't even notice that he is missing a leg and thinks he can lift his leg just like any other dog. And as you can see, he can!

In video dating from October 2014 from Chobe National Park in Botswana filmed by Czech national Pavel Merunko, the tourists enlist the help of some initially reluctant local rangers, who use heavy-duty chains to pull the elephant out of the hole - but only after they were paid 100 euros, according to Merunko. He says the elephant was seven-years-old and weighed two tons.

Circus monkey cries seeing a friend after a year of separation The circus monkey is a part of the seasonal show which comes to town every year. The movie shows an emotional reaction of the animal seeing his friend Miro. They haven't seen each other for almost a year. During the monkey's stay in town Miro who is a volunteer at the facility would bring him some treats like bananas and raisins. The have become really good friends. The owner of the monkey is a great circus artist who has a show of dogs and monkeys. He does take a very good care of the animals. The monkey-boy is 14 years old.

A man voluntarily abandons his dog to the edge of a highway A 57-year-old American cruelly abandoned his dog along a highway in Dallas. What he did not know was that he was being filmed by the police at the same time. Unfortunately for the individual and fortunately for the animal, this area was known to the police as a place of frequent animal abandonment. The police watched the entire scene and arrested the man for cruelty to the animal, which is reprehensible in the United States.

Why no aquarium has a great white shark There are several aquariums around the world, including one in Georgia, that house whale sharks, the biggest fish in the sea. But not one has a great white shark on display. Aquariums have made dozens of attempts since the 1970s to display a captive great white shark. Most of those attempts ended with dead sharks. By the 2000s, the only group still trying was the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which spent a decade planning its white shark program. In 2004, it acquired a shark that became the first great white to survive in captivity for more than 16 days. In fact, it was on display for more than six months before it was released back into the ocean. In the following years, the Monterey Bay Aquarium hosted five more juvenile white sharks for temporary stays before ending the program in 2011. It was an expensive effort and had come under criticism due to injuries that some of the sharks developed in the tank. Responding to those critics, Jon Hoech, the aquarium's director of husbandry operations, said: "We believe strongly that putting people face to face with live animals like this is very significant in inspiring ocean conservation and connecting people to the ocean environment. We feel like white sharks face a significant threats out in the wild and our ability to bring awareness to that is significant in terms of encouraging people to become ocean stewards." Family wraps home in greenhouse to warm up Stockholm weather The average temperature in Stockholm in January is -3°C (27°F). For Marie Granmar and Charles Sacilotto it can be much warmer thanks to the greenhouse that blankets their home. “For example at the end of January it can be -2°C outside and it can be 15 to 20°C upstairs,” explains Sacilotto. He was inspired to build a house-in-a-greenhouse through his relationship with architect Bengt Warne who began designing the first Naturhus (Nature House) in 1974*. Originally Sacilotto looked for an empty lot to build an entirely new Naturhus, but he eventually settled on an old summer house on the Stockholm archipelago. Using Warne’s design, he covered the small summer house, plus an addition, in 4 millimeter glass. The footprint of the greenhouse is nearly double that of the home, leaving plenty of room for a wrap-around garden, and since inside the bubble it’s a Mediterranean climate, the couple now grow produce atypical for Sweden (e.g. figs, tomatoes, cucumbers). The favorite spot is the glass-covered roof deck. Since there’s no longer need for a roof, the couple removed it and now have a large space for sunbathing, reading or playing with their son on swings and bikes. The greenhouse isn’t the only novel point to the Granmar-Sacilotto home. They are also completely independent from city sewage. Built by Sacilotto- an engineer by training-, the sewage system begins with a urine-separating toilet and uses centrifuges, cisterns, grow beds and garden ponds to filter the water and compost the remains.
