Edward Colston was a slave trader. For many years he was considered one of the most important personalities in the city, statues were erected and monuments were named in his honor. In Bristol there is Colston Tower, Colston Hall, Colston Avenue, Colston Street, Colston’s Girls’ School, Colston’s School and Colston’s Primary School. In schools she is remembered by celebrating “Colston´s Day” on November 13. They had been asking for the statue to be removed in Bristol for years.
