- Snapping turtle bites man twice Two friends went fishing in Burlington, Massachusetts last Friday hoping to catch something with artificial fishing lures. But two large snapping turtles hindered their progress. Michael Ganley and Victor Sanchez visited the local fishing spot. "I had my phone out trying to get slow motion videos of the snapping turtles in the water," said Ganley. "Of course they'll eat anything. I cut the barbs off of a fishing hook and caught a small sunfish. Then dangled it in front of a turtle and caught one," he added. Sanchez warns him, "dude, that thing will take your f***ing finger off," advising Ganley to be careful. Unfortunately, as expected, the turtle didn't respond too kindly to being caught, giving Ganley a couple of swift nips after it was pulled from the water.

- Car Hits Utah Trooper And Throws Him Into The Air A Utah High Patrolman was hospitalized after a sliding car hit him from behind in Sardine Canyon on Sunday. Sergeant Cade Brenchley, a second generation trooper, was responding to multiple cars that had slid off the road in the canyon. The trooper was walking toward a stranded white car when he was hit from behind by a black runaway car that was sliding. When Brenchley was hit, video shows him launched into the air before landing beside the white car. After he was hit, several passersby stopped to render aid to the trooper and called for help, including the driver who hit him. Among the first responders to the scene were three of Brenchley’s cousins and a couple of childhood friends, he said. Brenchley said Tuesday that he remembers stepping out of his vehicle, ”and then I remember everything was black. It felt like a weird dream.“ He suffered four broken ribs, a broken shoulder blade and road rash on his face.

- Man Jumps Into Lion Enclosure This is the hair-raising moment an inebriated labourer miraculously survived jumping into the lion enclosure at an Indian zoo singing "Please come to me my darling". Mukesh Kumar, 35, a migrant labour working at a an underground metro construction site was on a visit to Nehru Zoo Park in Hyderabad in southern India with couple of his friends on Sunday evening. Having consumed alcohol before their visit, Mukesh inexplicably leapt into the moat surrounding the lions enclosure, located 12 feet beneath the viewing platform. His sudden jump and loud noise of the splash created havoc among the visitors.
- A tiger becomes friends with a goat An unlikely friendship continued to develop between a rare Amur tiger and a goat that was meant to be his dinner, at Primorski Safari Park in Shkotovski on Saturday. SOT, Dmitri Mezentsev, director of the Primorski Krai Safari Park (In Russian): "The situation is really phenomenal. If I was told that this were possible I would not believe it; but miracles can happen. One of them is in front of you. I am really amazed. But this is a real friendship. He [the tiger] will not eat the goat. If he wanted, he would have eaten him one thousand times." SOT, Dmitri Mezentsev, director of the Primorski Krai Safari Park (In Russian): "The Amur is three years and eight months old. During the three years that he has lived here, he has eaten more than 100 goats, sheep and other animals. He eats them twice a week, and it is fine with him. The thing is that this goat is audaciously brave, and the tiger decided that he will not eat him."
