Today we’re dropping our red hot steel ball on a spring of soldering wire. The result is oddly satisfying to watch. Soldering wire is made out of tin and lead and melts at around 180-200 degrees Celsius.

Toro Fluxus The Toro Fluxus was invented in the 1990s by a craftsman in Germany. A 28ft long ribbon of fine flat spring steel is woven into a torus and the ends spot welded. It comes attached to a plastic core, and when released the spring opens up into a torus shape. If you then pass the core through your hands, the torus flows downwards gripping onto the core and shimmering like a silver bubble.
