A man on a bike was the collateral victim of a chase this Wednesday early in the afternoon in the city. He was hit by a car trying to sow the police. “The vital prognosis of the cyclist, born in 1990, is not engaged, says Jean-Claude Cantiello, spokesman of the police. But he was taken to the emergency department of the cantonal hospital. “At 1:30 pm, a patrol that was circulating at Bergues’ wharf spotted a suspicious vehicle and triggered his siren. The car, with French plates, then fled. After crossing the Mont-Blanc bridge and taking the road to Chêne, the crazy car hit the man on a bicycle. Shortly after, the motorist, a Frenchman born in 1985, lost control of his craft at the crossroads with the Avenue de l’Amandolier. He is unscathed and has been arrested. The reasons that led him to flee the police are not yet known. The lurch of the suspect car caused a partial closure of the Oak Road in the early afternoon and disrupted traffic.
