Limonene is a colorless liquid that smells extremely strong of oranges. The compound got its name from the lemon (Citrus limon) because the lemon peel, like the peel of other citrus fruits, contains a significant amount of this compound, which is largely responsible for their aroma. Because limonene is flammable, it can also be considered a biofuel.
