Το Kayabuki no Sato, a small village in Kyoto which is famous for its houses with roofs of straw, having an original fire system with large sprayers that turn around the village in a fountain. With thatched roofs, these homes are very vulnerable to fires, which can spread very quickly and burn the whole village. In 2000 such a fire startled residents, who decided to install this system test twice a year (usually in May and December). All residents of the village and the surrounding villages come to see the show.
