Parents leave their children at school

The Unionville elementary school in Monroe, North Carolina has a problem. It is located in a fairly remote area. 700 children go to school every morning, and many of them live more than 20 miles from the school.

Parents are forced to take their car to leave their children at school, but the morning influx causes great car congestion. The Transport Department of North Carolina (NCDOT) conducted a test to try to improve traffic flow. Asked parents not to park in the parking lot, and try to leave directly to their children at school.

For the occasion, There were two ways to arrive at the entrance of the school. The parking area was used to form a S with the queues of cars in one direction. But as you can see in the video, the result was unsuccessful. Eventually the idea was abandoned.
