He lost his sight a few years ago, but Dan Mancina continues to do tricks with the skateboard, using a walking stick. After suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa, a genetic degenerative eye disease that is characterized by gradual and progressive loss of vision, Dan knew from the age of 13 that sooner or later he would be completely blind.
The loss of vision occurred mostly during the last five years, with total loss in left eye, and almost zero vision (only a few shades) in right eye. However, the Dan Mancina doesn't allow himself to put down and letting go the skateboard. A good example of courage and perseverance.
