   When I read that this plane can carry 72 tons of water, I confess that seemed excessive. So I searched a bit and found that it can carry 19,600 gallons, which corresponds to 74,194 liters. Well I searched and found that 1 liter water, It weighs 1 kg. So can carry 74 tons of water. Impressive, especially when you compare it to a fire truck, carrying 500 to 1500 gallons.
