On Tuesday September 19, 2017, Mexico City and its surroundings have been shaken by a powerful earthquake magnitude 7,1 on the Richter scale, resulting in the collapse of several buildings and the creation of numerous fires.
The epicenter was located in the State of Puebla, one hundred kilometers south of the Mexican capital and 51 km depth. The shock was felt in many States, while a first official report shows at least 49 deaths in the country's center.
Just 32 years ago (on September 19, 1985) It took place almost at the same point of the city a huge earthquake measuring 8,2 Richter, resulting in more than 10.000 deaths and 30.000 injuries.
