Two deionized water glasses are placed with a slight distance between them, and then a positive high voltage electrical load is applied to a glass and a negative charge at the other. In particular trend, formed a floating water bridge between the glasses, which remains even when the glasses are removed more. The phenomenon is called 'water thread' and was first reported in 1893 by the British engineer William Armstrong.
