Update of June 16, 2018: The eruption continues relatively steadily in the Lower East Rift Zone of Kilauea. The lava covered 9.25 square miles, or 24 square kilometers, and added approximately 1.3 square kilometers to the shoreline at Kapoho during the last surveys on Friday.
