On Sunday June 24, 2018 in Howell Michigan, a festival held hot air balloons. At approximately 8:00 a.m., a balloon lost altitude and the pilot was not able to avoid power lines.

When he came into contact with the wires, It appeared a great shine and a part of the fabric in the balloon caught fire. The balloon fell at Thompson Lake a few seconds later and the operator was not injured.
