The second ship is the Conti Lyon and was about 26 Kilometres away.

Thanks to roohif for his excellent detective work finding the ship and the distances.

Also for producing this image which clearly shows how much of the ship is hidden.

   Well, I'm doing the representation in Cinema 4D and for the Conti Lyon to come out with that size, it has to be 41km away, with which it would be completely hidden behind the “supposed curvature”.
