thermochromic ink

Craig Beals explains how this special ink may disappear when heated and reappears when cooled. The thermochromic pen is filled with leuco changing shape as heated or cooled. When these thermochromic inks are heated up to a certain temperature, they no longer reflect light and become 'invisible'. Their cooling instead causes them to change shape to reflect light back.
