On January 31, 2019, an airplane of the airline Copa Airlines had to turn back to the airport shortly after takeoff from Panama to Guatemala. One of the passengers was able to record the flames coming out of the engine, he hit a bird in flight. Emergency landing at Panama airport went smoothly and no one was injured.
