The magic of a solar eclipse recorded for the first time in video on May 28, 1900 by a famous astronomer, British Nevil Maskelyne, while on a mission of the British Astronomical Society in North Carolina. The eclipse was not easy to be filmed. The Maskelyne had to make a special telescopic adapter for the camera to record the event. This is the only film of Maskelyne we know that has survived until today. The film was restored by the British Film Institute.
