Underwater photographs are blue-green appearance due to the absorption and diffusion of light on the water. The researcher and oceanographer Derya Akkaynak has developed an algorithm to suppress this phenomenon so that the underwater fauna and flora recover their original colors in photos. The Akkaynak explains that this is not a simple image processing work in Photoshop or the Instagram filter.
