March 13, 1985, pilot Scott Gordon tries to land a Piper Turbo-Arrow aircraft, when he noticed that one of the landing gear was stuck. Engineers Joe Lippo and Rhett Radford had a radio communication with Gordon and found a plan according to which the plane would land on one wheel and a truck would be used to support the right wing.. However, the plan did not work due to the wind and the failure of the truck to keep pace with the plane. After more discussion, another plan was developed. With an Audi sports car and pilot Jim Moser at the wheel, Joe Lippo sat in the seat through the sunroof with Rhett Radford holding him in place. As Audi aligned under the belly of the plane with about 140 km / h, Lippo pulled the stuck wheel.
