In Israel, a young vulture lost his mother, which flew over power lines. The fire vulture is an endangered species, so Israeli ecologists were watching the young birds with cameras from their nests in order to protect them. So they cooperated with the Israeli army, who sent a drone with food to the nest every day for 136 days. Drone pilots spent several hours on training flights to prepare for the mission. The “Drone Mom” mission worked flawlessly, and on July 26 the young vulture flew alone for the first time.
