At the end of January 1984, Michael Jackson appeared in a Pepsi commercial in California, which contained special pyrotechnic effects. The fireworks exploded earlier than,what was planned, very close to the singer. As a result, his hair caught fire. Jackson did not immediately feel pain and continued to dance for several seconds before crew members ran over him to extinguish the flames.. To avoid scandal and bad publicity, Pepsi sued the singer out of court and Jackson donated 1,$ 5 million at Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, now known as the Michael Jackson Burn Center.
