The exotic bird Montezuma Oropendola is endemic to eastern Mexico, in Belize, in northern Guatemala, in Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and northwestern Panama. It inhabits mainly the marginal parts of the tropical forests, where it weaves hanging nests of banana fibers on tall trees. It has a very characteristic chirping, where it sounds like it has two voices at the same time.
