On Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Vangani Station in India, a 6 year old boy was with his blind mother, when he fell from the platform onto the tracks as he approached a train. Listening to the cries of the mother, Railroad official Mayur Shelke started a sprint about 30 meters on the rails to catch the child and lift him back onto the platform just before the train passed.. Indian Railways Minister Piyush Goyal says Mayur Shelke will be rewarded for his heroic deed.
