May 14, 2021 in Valmondois, France, a woman was walking down the street armed with a shotgun. Police arrived at the scene and tried to persuade her to drop the weapon without success. One of the policemen surprised her from behind, passing the fence of a nearby house. The gun fired, fortunately without anyone being injured. The woman was then taken to a psychiatric clinic.
