December 2015 in Benton, Washington, a detainee escaped from the courtroom. Gerald Hyde is 24 years old, referred to court to appear in court on charges of possession of methamphetamine. As he was being transported back to prison, escaped from a corridor and passed through an empty courtroom. The man was arrested almost two hours later in an apartment in Kennewick.
