This is a rare video of the 'glass octopus' (Vitreledonella richardi), an almost transparent octopus whose only visible features are the optic nerve, the eyes and the digestive system. The existence of this transparent octopus has been known for more than 100 years, but this is the first time it has been recorded on video. Scientists filmed it in depth near the Phoenix Islands, Northeast of Sydney in Australia.
