A frozen fish comes back to life

Experiment with a fish that has been frozen and thrown into a basin of water. After a few minutes, the fish thaws and returns to life. Many Arctic fish, Antarctica and the North have evolved to adapt to such conditions. Some types of cod, flounder and other polar fish have a reduced metabolic rate and can produce specific hormones with antifreeze properties. These hormones are called glycoproteins and reduce the freezing point of fluids in the body., which allows them to be kept at low temperatures for a short time.
