Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century palace perched on a hill above the village of Schwangau., near Füssen, in southwestern Bavaria, in Germany. Its construction was ordered by Louis II of Bavaria in 1868, as a place of rest and tribute to Richard Wagner. The palace was originally planned to become the king's personal refuge, but opened to the public for a fee immediately after his death in 1886, not yet completed. The palace has appeared in many films and was the inspiration for the castle of the beautiful sleeping Disneyland and other later constructions.
