     In 2008, Crete's F-16s went to Nevada... 'The General Air Staff announces that the Air Force is participating in the 'RED FLAG 2008' air exercise from October 18 to November 1, 2008, in a. b Nellis in Nevada, USA, with five (5) F-16 BLOCK 52+ aircraft of 115 AM/343 M. Exercise RED FLAG is considered worldwide as the most realistic exercise and the Air Force participates for the first time. The purpose of the exercise is the realistic training of crews in the planning and execution of air operations. Air combat missions will be carried out during the exercise, air – ground, as well as enemy air defense suppression missions.”
