On Friday July 8, 2022 during a tour of the Tian Shan Mountains in Kyrgyzstan, a group of hikers consisting of 9 Britons and 1 American were buried by an avalanche during the partial collapse of a glacier. Ignoring the danger at first, the tourists then took shelter behind some rocks. Two people were injured.
