Researchers from Samsung's labs have developed a way to create high-resolution deepfakes, from a photo or even a painting. It's called MegaPortraits, and the team says it solved a particularly difficult problem when the appearance of the 'guide' image is quite different from the source animation. For example, an effective Angelina Jolie deepfake is much more difficult to handle, when he is a man with short hair.
