In Beer-Sheva in Israel, a police officer stepped out of his building's elevator and noticed a dog on a leash following him without its owner. The doors closed blocking the harness, and the elevator went up pulling the animal up. The man ran towards the dog to try to untie it, but did not succeed. She had to cut the leash to save his life.

   I hate towlines for many reasons.
   In this case, however, it was life-saving.
