Fisherman Romualdo Macedo Rodrigues spent 11 days in a refrigerator in the middle of the Atlantic after his boat sank. The rescue was done by navigators who found the refrigerator floating in the sea, in Suriname. In an interview with, Romualdo explained that he got the idea to climb into the refrigerator after seeing his boat start to sink. He had left the port of Oiapoque to spend three days fishing. But his boat had cracks and began to flood.
