On Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in Skokie, Poland, a car collided with a freight train while crossing a level crossing with the tie bars down. The vehicle passed two other cars before breaking one of the level crossing bars and hitting the oncoming train. The 53-year-old driver was taken to hospital after being injured. He was sober at the time of the accident but did not have a driver's license. The man explained to the police that his car had a mechanical breakdown. The circumstances and causes of the accident are being investigated.
