Students at SDU University in Denmark, presented a fully autonomous self-recharging system for a drone capable of long-term continuous operation near power lines. The drone is equipped with a built-in navigation system that allows it to locate power lines and approach them. A gripper mechanism grips the power line cable, and a control circuit provides the holding force as well as recharging the battery.
