Several people try to hold their hand in freezing water at a temperature of -2 °C, the same temperature the Atlantic Ocean was on the night the Titanic sank. The temperature is below the freezing point of water, however, seawater, due to its salt content, freezes at a lower temperature than pure water. Water at this temperature is extremely dangerous for the human body. Most of the passengers who fell overboard died not of drowning, but from hypothermia within 15 to 30 minutes.
