A corner LED display in Osaka, Japan

The Dotonbori area is one of the most iconic and vibrant parts of Osaka, Japan. Located in the Namba district, it is known for its energetic atmosphere and many neon signs. Extra, you will find this huge corner LED screen that creates the illusion of 3D using a combination of perspective and specific optical techniques. This technology is known as anamorphic illusion.

The illusion is created in such a way that the image on the screen is apparently three-dimensional only from a certain point of view. The display uses knowledge of perspective and projection to simulate depth and volume on a 2D surface. The viewer has the feeling that objects 'come out' of the screen or 'enter' the space behind it.
