The Tesla Optimus, also known as Tesla Bot, is a humanoid robot developed by Tesla. It was first introduced in 2021 to perform tasks that are dangerous, repetitive or boring to humans. Optimus is designed with a similar body structure to a human, which includes head, trunk, two arms and two legs, allowing it to interact effectively with the human environment.

As for the Optimus robot arms, in December 2023 Tesla presented an improved version of the robot with new arms that have 11 degrees of freedom. These arms allow the robot to perform fine and precise movements, such as handling fragile objects such as eggs, without destroying them. Recent demonstrations have shown that Optimus can catch tennis balls, indicating an advanced level of dexterity and coordination.
