The Briton Nicholas Winton was an unsung hero until 1988, when his wife discovered documents and lists of 669 young children he had rescued from German concentration camps during World War II. The Winton had organized the rescue and transfer of children from occupied Czechoslovakia in Britain in an operation known as 'Kindertransport'. The British press called it the 'British Schindler'
