The Damascene steel swords were made during the middle ages in Syria and Japan, and have stayed as a legend for the very persistent and sharp blades. Although the original recipe of manufacturing Damascus Steel was never known, There are many modern methods of trying to copy. The blacksmith John Neeman uses one of them to make a handmade knife.
