The Sono sounds too good to be true in the realm of modern technology, and is not a product that you can buy right now. It is an idea created by the Austrian industrial designer Rudolf Stefanich and works by cancelling the vibrations caused by the external ambient noise, converting a window into noise-cancelling headphones. During testing of the prototype, the Sono successfully reduced noise by 12 decibels – a very good result for sounds in the 30-80 decibel range, but certainly not completely cancels the sound of traffic and loud noises.
