Never have to stop again at a red traffic light. That will be enabled in future by the new Audi car-to-X application presented at the CES 2014 in Las Vegas. It connects the car with the central traffic control computer, which controls all the traffic lights in the city. Based on that information it shows the driver what speed needs to be selected to pass through the next traffic light through a green phase.

The black Mercedes sedan came to a stop while a Fire Marshall in the area called in for help. A few seconds went by and the driver of the Mercedes backed up his wrecked car and then fled the scene onto the 215 fwy going south I made the split-decision to pursue the hit-and-run driver due to the fact that he appeared to be under the influence and might hurt or kill someone. Driver had tried to stop at different locations to hide. I chased the driver all the way to the city of Moreno Valley until he gave up near the Cottonwood and Frederick intersection. CHP was the first on the scene along with a few Moreno Valley Police Officers. Officers had detained the driver until a Colton Police Officer came and arrested the suspect.

"I'm in slow moving traffic and I notice a young boy being held from behind in a choke hold... I first wonder if they are just messing around. However, the 3 lads looked older and then the tall one sucker punches the young lad. I decide to get out. The 3rd lad is trying to steal the young lads bike... by the time I approach I can see the lads are much larger than the young lad... infact 2 were bigger than me... they are easily 18/19 years old. The chokeholder violently yanks the young lad away from his bike by the neck meanwhile the tall one mounts the bike so I sprint over and hit him... I then shove the 3rd guy then turn and take on the chokeholder. The young lad is turning white and is unsteady on his feet... I manage to get him behind myself and I use my best Glaswegian barks for them to fuck off but tall one goes behind us to get the bike again I presume. So I get the young lad (and his bike) over to my lorry and step in to put the nut on the tall one who continues to be a threat. Once out of shot (at passenger door) I offer to take him as passenger to nearest police station but as it turns out one of his mates had ran off to get help and so a female family friend arrived soon after and took him to safety... it turns out he was only 15".

This is not a new truck, but rather the key element in the interconnected transport system of the future. It is being developed as part of the "Shaping Future Transportation" initiative by Daimler Trucks to conserve resources and reduce emissions of all kinds. Other aims are to ensure the highest possible level of traffic safety and to boost networking with intelligent data management considerably for tailor-made vehicle and service solutions. The prototype demonstrated the exciting capabilities of the Future Truck 2025 back in the summer at speeds of up to 80 km/h in realistic traffic situations on a section of the A14 motorway in Magdeburg, Germany. Now the thrilling exterior and interior of that same vehicle are being revealed.
