The sculptor Robert Bisotski and geologist Geoffrey Carson at Syracuse University, New York, they constructed their own artificial volcano: an oven that gets old basaltic rocks 1,1 billion years and heats to 1,700 degrees Celsius, the temperature at which generated lava.

Students use the oven to study lava flows in a safe environment. But here had the idea to do a barbecue, roasting a few steaks.
