The Inca bridge

The Inca Empire was spreading from the capital in Cusco (today's Peru) in the South America, and included areas of Bolivia, Argentina, of Chile, of Ecuador and Colombia. Its citizens were master builders and engineers who created huge cities, as the Machu Picchu and the complex networks of roads in very rough terrain.

About 300 years before appearing suspension bridges in Europe, The Incas had a network of over 200 of them in all the Andes, that helped to move huge numbers of people, goods and soldiers throughout their empire. Although most of these bridges have now been destroyed, 500 years later a bridge Inca remains, Thanks to two communities who restore each year using the old ways of construction.
