Leros is at the forefront of the immigration crisis, the greater Europe has faced since the second world war. In the small Greek island have reached more than 9.000 immigrants and 2,500 of them in the last three weeks alone. Without the support from Athens or Europe, local authorities rely on a dedicated group of volunteers to prevent chaos and a humanitarian crisis. But the island is at breaking point.
