The island of Hawaii or the 'great island' is considered the most diverse ecological level of all the Hawaiian Islands. The big island is the epitome of all that Hawaii can offer.

The island of Hawaii has been formed by the activity of five different volcanoes: Kohala, White Mountain, HUALALAI, Mauna Loa and Kīlauea. The last two are in the volcanoes National Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (HVNP).
